What is Seva Sindhu Portal? Registration, Services and Benefits

The Seva Sindhu portal is an integrated portal which was launched by the Government of Karnataka in order to provide government-related services to its citizens. The Seva Sindhu portal was implemented under the e-district mission mode project of the ministry of communication and information technology.

The main aim of the Seva Sindhu portal was to make government services easily accessible, cost effective, liable and transparent. It also provides necessary awareness and assistance to the citizens on various government facilities and schemes through effective information dissemination. In this blog, we will look at the Seva Sindhu Portal in detail.

Revenue Department: For the revenue department, online application should be submitted to avail a number of certificates like Income certificate, caste certificate, resident certificate, Bonafide certificate, land holding certificate, widow certificate etc.

 

Commercial tax department: Through this department the registration of Karnataka businesses, occupations, professions and employment can be done.

 

Department of drug control: Through this department, an applicant can apply online for a licence for manufacturing and sales of premises of drugs and cosmetics along with the renewal of sales licence.

 

Food and Civil Services Department: Through this department, an applicant can avail the services like adding a members name in a Ration card, BPL, APPL, AAY change in wrong card category in Ration Card, new ration card and modification of ration cards.

 

Department of planning: Under this department, an applicant can request for either a death certificate or a birth certificate by submitting an application form online.

 

Transport department: Under this department, an owner of a new vehicle can register his or her vehicle by filing a registration form online.

 

Department of Ayush: Under this department, an applicant can obtain the appeal and performance certificates.

 

Youth empowerment and sports department: Through the Seva Sindhu portal, an applicant can apply for sports scholarships, sports gist award and lifetime achievement award.

 

Department of Information and Public Relations: Under this department, online applications for seeking permission to shoot movies, serials, documentaries, short films and advertisements are submitted.

 

Department of Kannada and culture: Under this department, citizens can apply for artist's rail discount travel or for sponsors of art teams.

 

Empowerment and senior empowerment department of empowerment: Through this department, an online facility to get senior citizens identity card can be availed.

  1. Application for registration of significant employers under the Contract Labour act.
  2. Application for a contract of new licence for contractors under the Contract Labour act.
  3. Application for renewal of licence to the contractor under the contractors labour act.
  4. Application to register an establishment under the building and other construction wage act.

 

Registration on Seva Sindhu portal

The registration on the Seva Sindhu portal is quite simple. The citizens need to follow the following steps in order to register themselves on the official portal of Seva Sindhu to avail the services of different departments:

  1. First of all, visit the official Seva Sindhu portal and provide your login details to apply for any of the services.
  2. If you are an existing user, then enter your login ID, password and captcha and click on submit.

  1. In case you are a new user, then click on the new registration tab, then  you will be redirected to the login application page. Fill out the online application form to register yourself.
  2. Enter all the details that are necessary and then click on the submit button.

  1. Select the department whose services you want to avail and apply for the appropriate services.

Once you have applied, you will receive an acknowledgement number which will act as a confirmation for the successful submission of your application.

 

Tracking application status

The Seva Sindhu portal also allows the citizens to track the application status which is submitted through the portal. Follow the steps listed below in order to track your application status:

  1. Visit the portal and provide the necessary details under the check your application status.
  2. Select the department and the services for which you have applied and enter the correct applicant number.

  1. Then, click on check status now to check the application status.
